Happy Birthday, My Baby!



It's been our tradition to celebrate baby's birth with Japanese cake right in the hospital room, so Pingu brought some strawberry shortcake and tiramisu from Satura Cakes to welcome our third child who was born this morning. I wish our two other children could have been there with us, but no kids were allowed in the hospital this year because of the H1N1 flu, unfortunately!.

Multigrain Pancake Mix Bread

Baked with Trader Joe's "Multigrain Baking & Pancake Mix." I thought this was a pretty good way to use left-over pancake mix, and Pingu actually liked it, but my son hated it, and my daughter wouldn't touch it at all...


Ingredients:
bread flour (125g)
pancake mix (125g)
water (155g)
Egg Replacer (1 1/2 tsp. mixed with 2 tbsp. of water)
yeast (3g)

Soybean Flour Bread


きな粉パン~This bread has no oil (no margarine, butter, or olive oil) but it's not dry at all, and the slight aroma of soybean flour is perfect. Pingu's uncle loved it.

Ingredients:
bread flour (345g)
soybean flour (30g)
water (245g)
salt (5g)
brown sugar (60g)
yeast (4g)
